This is what a modern city looks like? On 8 December 2025 a food stunt at Sector 56's HSVP market ends with an FIR and a public thrashing. When the state books a young man for "religious feelings" while a gang parades him, both sides are announcing the same ugly idea: faith is a club. Today it is a chicken momo, tomorrow it is a book, a song, a joke. A republic cannot outsource morality to the loudest men with smartphones, in Delhi or in London. If you want to punish a prank, do it in court, not with slaps for the camera. And if you fear communal sparks, stop rewarding them with instant arrests and headline-sized outrage. Build a citizenry that can tolerate offense without turning into a mob, else we will keep mistaking hysteria for culture.
