US President Donald Trump warned of possible tariffs on countries not supporting US control over Greenland.

Greenland should set the terms. It's not a Risk board where Washington buys a territory card with tariffs. People in Nuuk have protests and politics, and Denmark has sovereignty, so any deal that ignores them is dead on arrival. Trump's Feb 1 and June 1 tariff calendar might force attention, yet it also hardens positions. A smarter path is boring: long term defense agreements, shared revenue from any resource projects, and respect for self-determination. Think IKEA assembly, not hostage notes, slow steps that actually hold together. Nobody should be annexed by invoice.
