Killing leaders does not kill ideas. Strikes framed as regime change invite the worst kind of pride response, because humiliation is a fuel that never runs out. Even if missiles and radars are hit, the incentive shifts to asymmetric revenge in places you cannot defend cleanly. A policy that relies on shock can produce a generation that learns only hatred.
