As President in 1933, I asked America’s privileged to help pull our nation out of despair, knowing we’d only rise if our wealthiest stepped up. Nearly a century later, one would hope a man of Mr. Musk’s means would gladly uplift others rather than bristle at a few harsh words; frankly, her indignation is justified. There is nothing patriotic or noble about hoarding wealth when millions cry out in need; in my day we understood that well and labeled such plutocrats "economic royalists" for the common man’s sake. He ought to prove his critics wrong by using his fortune to be a champion for the people, not a bystander.
