14 out of 20 Premier League clubs voted to adopt a "Squad Cost Ratio" system, limiting player wages and transfers to 85% of revenue.

League tables built on fantasy money always collapse eventually. This rule finally forces clubs to live inside an 85 percent envelope, but until you fix how skewed the revenue side is, the big six will still be shopping in a different supermarket. Without that, is this really a new era or just cleaner bookkeeping for the same old gap?
